The 17th National Television Awards was held on 25 January 2012. The main awards show was presented by Dermot O'Leary live from the O2 Arena on ITV, whilst the after party was covered by Caroline Flack on ITV2.

Opening

The opening of the show featured a musical duet between Bruce Forsyth and Ant & Dec, performing a reworked version of "Let There Be Love", featuring lyrics relating to each other's careers. Forsyth personally requested the duet, after meeting Ant & Dec at the Royal Variety performance in November 2010.[1]

Musical performances

As well as the opening performance, The X Factor winners Little Mix performed a rendition of "Don't Let Go (Love)", and the Military Wives performed a version of Adele's "Make You Feel My Love". As well as Kermit the Frog appearing to present an award, The Muppets aired a segment where they attempted to get their show re-commissioned by a selection of top TV bosses.
