Albert Cifelli

Albert Cifelli represents District 9 on the Hudson County, New Jersey Board of Chosen Freeholders, one of nine members who serve in a legislative role administering all county business. District 9 includes the Borough of East Newark, the town of Harrison, the Town of Kearny and part of the Town of Secaucus.

A native of Harrison, Cifelli was re-elected to the Board of Chosen Freeholders on November 8, 2005, and was sworn in on January 1, 2006, for another three-year term of office that expired on December 31, 2008.[1]

On the 2006 Board, Freeholder Cifelli served as chairman of the Contract Review Committee, chairman of the Ethics Committee and as liaison to the Hudson County Improvement Authority. He also served on the following committees: County Government, Oversight and Policy Review; Personnel; Senior Citizens and Veterans Affairs; and Transportation.

Cifelli received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Rutgers–Newark, graduating magna cum laude, and was awarded a Juris Doctor degree from the Rutgers School of Law–Newark.

He practices law in Harrison, is a member of the Hudson County Bar Association and the New Jersey State Bar Association and has been past president of the West Hudson Bar Association. Cifelli served as public defender and as municipal prosecutor in the Town of Kearny. He also served as a member of the West Hudson Hospital board of governors for the past 10 years, in part as chairman of the board.
