Algerians in France are people of Algerian descent living in France. Also, sometimes includes French people born within the territory of Algeria who were French settlers and are known as Pied-Noir. People of Algerian origin account for a large sector of the total population in France. In spite of France's colonial rule in Algeria from 1830 to 1962, many Algerians chose to immigrate to France from the 1960s to the present due to political turmoil.
