Career
Club
He is the younger brother of Eneko Arieta. He first signed with Athletic Bilbao, starting on September 13, 1964. He played for them for eleven seasons for a total of 358 matches (261 of them for the Championship), having scored 83 goals and winning two Copa del Rey (1969 and 1973).
In 1974 he was transferred to Hércules and ended his career two years later.
National
He had seven appearances for the Spain national football team, with which he scored 4 goals.
