Arkansas Repertory Theatre is Arkansas' largest non-profit professional theatre company. Known as "The Rep", the company has produced more than 280 productions, including 40 world premieres, since it was founded in 1976. The company's historic building contains a 354-seat MainStage and 99-seat black box SecondStage and is located in downtown Little Rock, Arkansas. The company is led by Robert Hupp, who has been Producing Artistic Director since 1999 when founder Cliff Fannin Baker retired. Hupp leads staff, artists and a 28-member Board of Directors, who serve as ambassadors to the community and govern The Rep’s fiduciary growth and operations. With an operating budget of $3.1 million, The Rep relies on season subscriptions, special events, foundation support, corporate and individual donations, and National Endowment for the Arts and Arkansas Arts Council funding.
