Baptist World Aid Australia is a Christian not-for-profit organisation that is focused on empowering the world’s poor to lift themselves out of poverty. Their main areas of work in Australia and overseas are through SAO Children (child sponsorship), Commit to Community projects and through emergency relief and advocacy in Australia around issues of global poverty.

Their vision is "A world where poverty has ended and all people enjoy the fullness of life God intends.”[1]

Baptist World Aid Australia is accredited with the Australian Government’s aid and development agency (AusAID). and is a compliant signatory of ACFID (Australian Council for International Development). They receive funding from the government and must meet strict financial, reporting and project requirements.

Tim Costello once served as the patron of Baptist World Aid Australia.

They currently have support projects in Kenya, Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Cambodia, Indonesia, Philippines, Timor Leste, Solomon Islands, Papua New Guinea and Australia.
