Elizabeth "Betsy" Johnson (born January 12, 1951) is an American politician in the state of Oregon. A Democrat, she is serving her second term in the Oregon State Senate representing the 16th Senate District, which includes the cities of Tillamook, Astoria, St. Helens, and Seaside. Johnson previously served in the Oregon House of Representatives.[4]
She began serving in the Senate in January 2005, initially being appointed to succeed Joan Dukes, who had vacated the seat to take another position.[1][4] She was elected to the seat the following year.[3]
Personal
Johnson's father, Sam Johnson, served several terms in the Oregon House in the 1960s and 1970s.[3][5]
