Lua error in package.lua at line 80: module 'strict' not found. Claude Clegg is a historian who specializes in the history of the African diaspora in the Americas. He is currently the Associate Vice Provost for Faculty Development and Diversity at Indiana University, where he served as the department chair of the history department from 2006-2010.

Clegg holds a Ph.D. from the University of Michigan. He has written several books, including An Original Man: The Life and Times of Elijah Muhammad, Troubled Ground: A Tale of Murder, Lynching, and Reckoning in the New South, and The Price of Liberty: African Americans and the Making of Liberia.
