Colin Butler (entomologist)

Colin Gasking Butler OBE FRS (26 October 1913 – 4 January 2016) was a British entomologist who first isolated the pheromone which attracts drones to queen bees.[1] He was Head of Entomology Department, Rothamsted Experimental Station, Harpenden, 1972–1976[2]

He died on 4 January 2016 at the age of 102 after a short illness.[3]
