Crooked Creek Wildlife Management Area

Crooked Creek Wildlife Management Area is a protected area located in Carroll County, Virginia. Its 1,796 acres (7.27 km2) include forests and open land, and contain portions of Crooked Creek and its east fork. Most of the area was once farmland, and the sites of a number of old houses may still be found across the property. The forests contain mixed hardwood and pine; the open areas were once used for pasture. Rhododendrons may also be found in thickets along most of the stream. The lowest elevation is 2,400 feet (730 m) above sea level, while the highest is over 3,000 feet (910 m).
