Umm Farwah bint al-Qasim (Arabic: أم فروة بنت القاسم) or Umm Farwah Fatimah was the wife Muhammad al-Baqir, and the mother of the sixth Imam, Ja'far al-Sadiq.[1]
Family
Her father was Al-Qasim ibn Muhammad ibn Abi Bakr. Her grandfather was Muhammad ibn Abi Bakr. She also had another son called Abdullah son of Muhammad al-Baqir.
Knowledge
She is a notable woman for her knowledge in Islamic history. She is among the Imamiyyat (the women of the Ahl al-Bayt and the companions of the Imams) narrators of the hadith and narrated on the authority of Imam Zayn al-Abidin.[1]
