Arriva Medway Towns 6424 (GN04 UER), a Volvo B7TL/TransBus ALX400, in Brooklands Road, Weybridge, Surrey, at the railway station bus stop. It is seen here on a shuttle between Weybridge railway station and Mercedes-Benz World, due to an event that was being held at Mercedes-Benz World on the day. Despite the buses being based many miles away from Surrey (in Gillngham, Kent to be precise), a number of these B7TLs were in use. They were assisted by Arriva Guildford & West Surrey (the local Arriva subsidiary) 6402 and 6403, as well as the Sunday service on route 436, which shuttles back and forth between the station and Mercedes-Benz World, which was also running (because it had to to comply with the route's registration with the traffic commissioner). The Medway Towns buses and 6402 and 6403 were all new to Gillingham depot in 2004, as part of "Operation Overdrive", where a large batch of buses were purchased to upgrade the fleet in one go. 6402 and 6403 had been transferred away from their home town in August 2009, so this shuttle service let them meet back up with some of their sister buses again.
