Colossal lion sculpture originally from <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Knidos" class="extiw" title="en:Knidos">Knidos</a>, carved from one solid block of <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pentelic_marble" class="extiw" title="en:Pentelic marble">Pentelic marble</a> on display in the <a href="//commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/British_Museum" title="British Museum">British Museum's</a> Great Court, <a href="//commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/London" title="London">London</a>. It is believed to commemorate the great naval victory, the <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Cnidus" class="extiw" title="en:Battle of Cnidus">Battle of Cnidus</a>, in which <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conon" class="extiw" title="en:Conon">Conon</a> defeated the Lacedaemonians in <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/394_BC" class="extiw" title="en:394 BC">394 BC</a>.
