Photographic Album, 1929Sponsored by the San Jose Chamber of Commerce, this float is an airplane made of green shrubs more than 20 feet long and a wing span of 19 feet. On the side of the fusilage is the name "San Jose" in white flowers. The fusilage was finished with sweet williams. Green huckleberry was used in decorating the wings. A propeller made of flowers was kept in constant motion. Two men standing on the street in front of the float hold a banner which says "San Jose must have an airport this year." A boy sits in the pilot seat looking out. There is a house and spectators in the background.
