The Burton Cooper, Coopers Square Shopping Centre The bronze sculpture, The Burton Cooper by James Walter Butler was commissioned in 1977 and depicts a local craftsman. It originally stood opposite the market and was moved to its present location in 1994. Coopers Square Shopping Centre was originally constructed in three phases between 1969 & 1974. In 1994 & 1995 the scheme was completely refurbished and the open precincts were covered.
