Archaic form of the character Tiān 天 ("Heaven", "Sky", "God"), of the Zhou dynasty and culture. It represents a human-like being whose head-mind is informed by the astral square of the north celestial pole (Big Dipper, swastika), and derives from the <a href="//commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Shang_archaic_form_of_Di.svg" title="File:Shang archaic form of Di.svg">Shang archaic character for Dì 帝, "Deity"</a>.
