Dr. jur. Franz Beyer[Note 1] (27 May 1892 – 15 October 1968) was a highly decorated General der Infanterie in the Wehrmacht during World War II who held commands at the divisional and corps levels. He was also a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross. The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross was awarded to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership. Franz Beyer was captured in 1945 and was released in 1947.

In 1956 he was co-publisher of the political journal Blätter für deutsche und internationale Politik (Papers for German and international politics).[citation needed]
