French ship Richelieu

Four ships of the French Navy have been named in honour of Armand-Jean du Plessis, Cardinal and Duc de Richelieu, considered to be one of the founders of the French Navy.
Ships
- Richelieu (1873), a central battery ironclad.[1][note 1]
- Richelieu (1915), an auxiliary patrol boat.[1]
- Richelieu (1939), a fast battleship.[1]
- Charles De Gaulle, a nuclear aircraft carrier was originally named Richelieu.[1][2]
- The projected new French aircraft carrier, if it is indeed built, may be named Richelieu.[3]
