Güneş is a defunct Turkish sports club of Istanbul, Turkey. They were founded in 1935 as a breakaway club from Galatasaray SK and had the same colors (yellow and red). They have been founded as Ateş-Güneş (Fire&Sun), but Atatürk did not like the name of "Ateş", so the club changed its name to Güneş.
