Hin Namno
Hin Namno or Hin Namno National Biodiversity Conservation Area is a nature reserve in Khammouane Province, Laos. This area borders Phong Nha-Ke Bang of Vietnam to the east.
The area protects the biodiversity of Laos and Southeast Asia. Hin Namno topography and geology feature karst formation. If this area and Phong Nha-Ke Bang are combined into a contiguous area, then this would be one of the largest karst region in the world.[citation needed]
Species
Key species living in the reserve include Douc and Francois’s langur, giant muntjac, fruit bat, harlequin bat, great evening bat, wreathed and great hornbills and the sooty babbler.[1]
Habitats
Certain habitats and forestry in the reserve include evergreens, both mixed deciduous and dipterocarp forest. Due to Hin Namno being located between the Central Indochina Limestone and Annamite Chain there are many caves and limestone escarpments including a 5 km cave along the Xe Bangfai River.[2]
