Starlords, also known as admins, are Galaxians who have been assigned the responsibility for overseeing the editing and the behavior of other Galaxians at Infogalactic. They have been provided with special powers and technical tools, including the ability to block and unblock user accounts and IP addresses from editing, edit protected pages, protect and unprotect pages from editing, delete and undelete pages, rename pages, assign verifiability and relevance ratings to pages, and assign spectrum and credibility ratings to Galaxians. They are also responsible for handing out stars and other rewards to Galaxians for their contributions to Infogalactic.

Starlords are volunteers who are awarded their status after a review of their application by the Infogalactic Council. They are not acting as employees of Infogalactic AG. They are expected to remain completely impartial, to abide by the Seven Canons, and to hunt down griefers who are attempting to vandalize, proselytize, or otherwise jeopardize the operations of Infogalactic.

Corelords are professional Starlords who have purchased their status and own the right to one Starlordship. Corelords are expected to abide by the same impartial standards of conduct as regular Starlords, but their activities tend to be more focused on their areas of corporate interest.

Infogalactic has 42 Starlords and 1 Corelord.

Starlords' abilities

Starlords have the technical ability to perform the following actions:

  • Block user accounts and IP addresses from editing
  • Apply page protection to restrict editing of a particular page
  • Delete pages
  • Rename a page
  • Edit fully protected pages
  • View and restore deleted pages
  • Hide and delete page revisions
  • Assign and remove Adult status from pages
  • Distribute stars to user accounts

Starlords are also expected to arbitrate and resolve disputes between Galaxians. If a Galaxian has a complaint about the actions of a Starlord, he can register the complaint with any other Starlord and an ad hoc Star Chamber of three Starlords will review the complaint. If the Galaxian is unhappy with the outcome of the Star Chamber, he can appeal to the Star Council if his complaint is seconded by any one of the four Starlords concerned.
