John S.R. Shad

Lua error in package.lua at line 80: module 'strict' not found. John Sigsbee Rees Shad (1923–1994), served as chairman of U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission between 1981 and 1987. He also served as the ambassador to the Netherlands. He had two children, Leslie and Rees Shad, and was married to Patricia Shad. He has a building named after him at the Harvard Business School, called Shad Hall.
He said when he was the head of the SEC that he had wanted to spend a third of his life learning, a third earning, and a third serving.
