Kate Osamor is a British Labour Co-operative politician. She has been the Member of Parliament (MP) for Edmonton since May 2015.[1]

Her mother is Martha Osamor, who was a political activist in the 1980s. Osamor was educated at Creighton comprehensive school and the University of East London.[2] Before becoming an MP, Osamor was a GP practice manager.[3]

Osamor was one of 36 Labour MPs to nominate Jeremy Corbyn as a candidate in the Labour leadership election of 2015.[4]

On 14 January 2016, Osamor was appointed by Corbyn to the Official Opposition frontbench as Shadow Minister for Women and Equalities.[5]
