L.J. Sellers is a mystery and crime fiction author who writes the Detective Jackson series as well as standalone thrillers.

Biography

Sellers was born in Santa Rosa, California, grew up in Southern Oregon, then attended the University of Oregon. She graduated in 1983 with a BA in journalism and continues to live in Eugene, where she used to write for The Register-Guard and now is a full-time novelist. Sellers is married with three grown sons.

Sellers previously worked as a freelance writer and editor, and her articles have appeared in Self, Oregon Quarterly, Senior News, and other papers in Oregon. She has edited scholarly books such as Intervening in Children's Lives: An Ecological, Family-Centered Approach to Mental Health Care and Behavioral Response to Intervention: Creating a Continuum of Problem-Solving and Support. Sellers currently writes the Detective Jackson mystery/thriller series, based in Eugene, Oregon. The stories feature homicide detective Wade Jackson.

Sellers earned the Grand Neal in 2002 for her articles titled “Discovery! Neurology” and won a second Neal in 2003 for her role on Pharmaceutical Executive, named “best overall magazine.” Her novel, Dying for Justice, won the 2012 Readers Favorite Award in the Mystery category.
