Molly Aguirre (born September 10, 1984, in Duluth, Minnesota, U.S.) is a professional snowboarder and member of the U.S. Snowboarding Team, specializing in halfpipe events. She currently lives in Mammoth Lakes, California.

Besides halfpipe, Molly also snowboards slopestyle, grind/rail, and quarter pipe events. She was the first female snowboarder to perform a backside 900 in competition.

Biography

Molly's father, Mike Aguirre, taught Molly and her brother Mason to snowboard as children. When the two showed signs of talent, he moved the family from Minnesota to Mammoth Lakes to give them an opportunity to develop their skills. Mason is currently also on the U.S. Snowboarding Team.

Career

Aguirre's first pro event was in 2002. She later left Burton and made the transfer for a while to DC. In 2009, she stepped aside from snowboarding to pursue a career in nursing. Molly is currently in nursing school at California State Channel Islands in Camarillo, Ca and will graduate May 2015.[1]
