National Highway 218 (NH - 218) (new number NH 161) is a national highway of India. This highway connects five main cities in northern part of Karnataka state namely, Bidar, Gulbarga, Bagalkote, Bijapur and Hubli (also known as Hubballi). It covers a distance of 476 km.[1] The NH 218 was a state highway before nominated as national highway. The state highways are maintained by respective state governments, whereas national highways are maintained by Central Government of India.
