The 1969–70 National Hurling League was the 38th season of the NHL, an annual hurling competition for the GAA county teams.[1][2] After winning the home tournament, Cork went to New York for a two-legged final. After an ill-tempered second leg the referee Clem Foley was knocked unconscious by New York supporters.[3]
