College Faculties

Many of the students are local, and over 80% are aged over 19 on entry with an average age of 31. Newham College is an Associate College of the London Metropolitan University and has close links with many other universities, including East London, South Bank, and the Surrey Institute of Art & Design. Recently these have included Imperial, King´s, Queen Mary, UCL and other Manchester and Nottingham Universities, plus St George´s Medical School.

Newham University Centre (NUC) is the higher education faculty of Newham College London. It is a key element of the College’s mission to provide the community with educational opportunities at all levels of nursery, school, further and higher education. NUC runs its degree programmes in collaboration with what are called partner universities.

The Centre for Innovation and Partnerships was established in 1997 by Newham College to open up new ways of training and support for individuals and businesses. It utilises European and other regeneration funds and works collaboratively with a wide range of partners. The College developed and operates Fashion and Textile Museum. The Museum is a cutting edge centre for contemporary fashion, textiles and jewellery near London Bridge and was originally founded by iconic British designer Zandra Rhodes. The College developed New Horizons London which is the London franchise of the global IT training business, New Horizons. The Women’s Business Centre specialises in business training and NewTec provides childcare facilities. The College also supports Jamie's Ministry of Food Stratford and helped to develop a charity, The Learning Revolution Trust, to financially support disadvantaged students.
