San Bruno is a Caltrain station located in San Bruno, California. The station is located just northeast of downtown San Bruno, above the intersection of San Mateo and San Bruno Avenues, adjacent to Artichoke Joe's Casino.

History

From 1962 to 2010 the San Bruno Caltrain station was near the corner of Huntington and Sylvan, except that during construction of the BART extension to SFO the San Bruno station was temporarily moved underneath I-380 on Herman Street, just off Huntington Ave. This station was near Tanforan Shopping Center and the current San Bruno BART station. This relocation allowed construction of the BART subway beneath the San Bruno Caltrain station on its way to the airport. The temporary station was open from 2000 to 2003, and a new Caltrain station at the original location reopened in 2003 shortly before completion of the BART extension.

In 2010 construction began on the San Bruno Grade Separation Project, which entailed building elevated tracks over San Bruno, San Mateo, and Angus Avenues in downtown San Bruno, and a new elevated station over the intersection of San Mateo and San Bruno Avenues. Starting in October 2010, for the duration of the construction, the San Bruno Caltrain station was moved to a temporary location two blocks south of the original station, at Huntington and Georgia Avenues. Trains began using the new elevated tracks on May 26, 2013, and the new station opened on April 1, 2014.
