- Elizabeth Ann Seton (aka Mother Seton) an Episcopalian who converted to Roman Catholicism after her husband's death. She founded a Catholic girls school in Emmitsburg, Maryland as well as the Sisters of Charity Roman Catholic order.
Seton Hall is not to be confused with Seton Hill University in Greensburg, Pennsylvania.
