Suhani Si Ek Ladki is an Indian television soap opera, which premiered on Star Plus channel on 9 June 2014. It stars Sahil Mehta, Rajshri Rani Pandey in lead roles. The show is doing decent in ratings department but from few weeks it getting tough competition from rival channel show in same time slot.

Plot summary

Suhani Si Ek Ladki is about young love and extended family dynamics. Suhani is an average looking yet free spirited and kind girl who loves everyone. Her best friend is Soumya, a very beautiful girl. Yuvraj, a rich boy who values beauty secretly falls in love with Soumya, who is in an arranged marriage with Yuvraj and believes they are already in love. At a certain point in the story, Yuvraj confesses his love to Soumya, who is shocked because she thought he loved Suhani, and because she is also in love with a boy named Krishna.

Soumya marries Krishna against her mother's wish. Suhani's father works up a plan to blackmail Yuvraj into marrying his daughter, and they end up marrying each other. Soumya's new mother-in-law and sister-in-law hate her which causes frequent arguments between Soumya and Krishna.

Likewise, Suhani's grandmother-in-law (Yuraj's grandmother) hates Suhani because she thinks she is not beautiful enough. The plot thickens as two new people in the story, Menka and Ragini convince Dadi to win the heart of Soumya in order to bring Soumya back in Yuvraj's life. Suhani brings Soumya to Birla House as she thinks that Krishna is torturing her. Dadi, Ragini and Menka make many attempts to bring Soumya close to Yuvraj, but Pratima and Sharad oppose them. Dadi troubles Suhani.

Eventually Soumya falls in love with Yuvraj and tries to come between Suhani and Yuvraj. Suhani remains unaware. Soumya makes many attempts to impress Yuvraj and finally confesses her love but Yuvraj has no feelings for her. Soumya, Dadi, Ragini & Menka try to keep Suhani away from Yuvraj but Yuvraj is on Pratima and Sharad's side as he knows that Soumya is too clever and Suhani is innocent. Soumya plans to befriend Yuvraj and acts sweet to the innocent Suhani so she can take Suhani's place without her knowledge. Yuvraj finds out about Soumya's intentions and bad deeds. Suhani comes to know the truth about her marriage and is heartbroken. Yuvraj makes a plan with her in order to throw Soumya out of the house. Meanwhile, Yuvraj falls into unrealized love for Suhani and takes Suhani's help to get Krishna and Soumya together again.

They eventually get married and Soumya leaves the house but more problems arise. Suhani leaves the house because she has a strong belief that there is no relationship without love. Then the family is being cheated by Mr Saxena, the man in charge of their company. Yuvraj's mom, thinking quickly, gets Suhani back from her parents to help them. Yuvraj's grandma, however, is not very happy with this decision. Therefore, she says that if Suhani can not catch the man who cheated them, or expose Mr Saxena, in 24 hours, then she would kick her out of the house again. Suhani eventually manages to catch the man, but someone tampers with her evidence, which brings her back to square one and at the risk of losing her husband again. Then another problem arises when Krishna is sent to jail for stealing Birla company money. Then Suhani manages to bring thieve out and tells all the family members that you have to put your effort to bring the name of Birlas again but for that you have to go in company and have to work hard. After so many happenings a love triangle is made in love of suhani yuvraj and rohan a lawyer and daadi's relative. But in latter part is shown that Rohan and Suhani are going to marry but a sudden entry of Yuvraj and confession of his love to suhani changes Rohan's mind. Then a twist came that is Amit, husband of Bhavna dies and Bhavna is married to Sharad and is in Birla house with her child. Daadi plans to create misunderstanding between two sisters. Later Yuvraj plans for an outing with Suhani seeing the problems between Bhavna and Suhani. There they find a mysterious girl with a mask, who saves,Suhani from death. Later they take their to her home and Suhani starts proving everyone that it is Yuvraj's lost sister Gauri. But no one believes. Therefore, Yuvraj does a secret DNA test and find out that she is Birla's daughtar. Later Gauri falls in love with aditya and after passing hurdles, they marry. After that a new character come named Barbie.She is Suhani's baby's surrogate mother.She and dadi plans to separate Yuvraaj and Suhani.In order to do so she kidnaps suhani and dadi forces her to marry yuvraj. Everyone believes that suhani has died but she is saved and returns. She comes to know that barbie secretly loves yuvraaj and she has faked her pregnancy i.e. Barbie is not pregnant and is only acting. Soon barbie kidnaps pratima and tries to kill her but yuvraaj and the entire birla family save her on holi. Then it is revealed that suhani as well as soumya, both are pregnant.Later barbie's brother Sajan and barbie does a conspiracy.They plants a bomb in birla's farmhouse.The bomb blasts killing krishna and gauri.Here the show takes a leap.

7 years later

After a fire in the farmhouse, Suhani has had twins, Yuvaan and Yuvani, but because of a separation, Yuvaan, a sporty and sensible boy, is living with Suhani, Bhavna, Golu (Anant) and Sharad in Uttar Pradesh. Yuvraaj is now living with Soumya and her daughter, Krishna - and his daughter Yuvani - a slightly spoilt girl who wants to look the best due to talks from Daadi. The reason for Soumya being with Yuvraaj is not known at this stage, but it is assumed that Gauri (Yuvraaj's sister) and Krishna (Soumya's husband) have died in the house fire that occurred 6 years ago due to a plot by Barbie and her brother Saajan, and that Soumya is helping the Birla's keep their family together and make sure the girls grow up with parents. Yuvraaj has split up with Suhani due to the Saajan incident that he claimed he would hold her responsible for. It is unclear where Soumya's 2nd child is as it was shown that Soumya was expecting twins at the same time as Suhani.

7 years later, Suhani's look and style has changed with her becoming a fashion designer, who has a stricter personality at her workplace. She appears to have taken traits that a character like Daadi would have. Menka has a one year old child known as 'Babu', while the new house maid (Rama) is constantly winding Ragini up to make sure her place in the house doesn't disappear due to the new baby - which Daadi considers only a good bahu would give her.

On 19 April 2016, it was revealed that Krishna had died in the fire when he went back inside to save Gauri, who also died. Yuvraj held Suhani responsible for the loss of his sister and the loss of her friend's husband and for keeping Saajan in the house against his will and told her to go so far away that their memories would be forgotten along with her.later suhani comes to know that yuvani is her daughter and she founds out that dadi had lied to her.she goes to Birla house along with yuvan and sharad.yuvraj left for US before suhani came.suhani ,sharad,saurabh, and pratima are now trying to change yuvani.
