Major Rewrite

This article was a mess, structurally disorganized and lacking in focus. It contained a lot of discussion of issues only peripherally related to the subject. I have done a major rewrite, reorganizing the material and removing, e.g., lengthy discussions of chi-rho and Christian iconography, which clutter the focus. The entire "Other uses of "X(t)" for "Chris(t)-" was deleted as being off-topic, and the misnamed "Use of 'X' for 'Christ'" section has been renamed "Modern Controversy", which is really what it was talking about, anyway.
