Ceratocystis paradoxa is a plant pathogen able to cause disease in many species.

It is a cosmopolitan fungus and has been reported from Ananas (Bromeliaceae), Cocos spp., Elaeis spp. (Arecaceae), Ipomoea spp. (Convolvulaceae), Musa spp. (Musaceae), Theobroma spp. (Malvaceae), Saccharum spp. (Poaceae) and other plant families and causes Leaf and fruit rot on them.

Pineapple black rot is one of the most important diseases caused by C. paradoxa.
