Vasile Stîngă (born January 21, 1957 in Hunedoara) is a former Romanian handball player who competed in the 1980 Summer Olympics and in the 1984 Summer Olympics. One of the best players of his time, Stîngă played 216 times for Romania and scored 1414 goals.[1] He is currently the player with most goals for the Romanian national team.
In 1980 he won the bronze medal as part of the Romanian team. He played all six matches and scored 36 goals.
Four years later he was a member of the Romanian handball team which won again the bronze medal. He played all six matches and scored 46 goals.
