Death
On March 11, 1996, Viktor Pimenov was fatally shot in the back by a sniper positioned on the roof of a sixteen-story building in Grozny, the Chechen capital. Pimenov had been filming the devastation caused by the March 6–9 rebel raid on the city.[1] It was alleged he was singled out as a target.[2]
