For the first time, the Bruins defeated the Trojans two years in a row. UCLA won the 1950 game 39–0. Scoring for the Bruins were Don Stalwick, Ike Jones, and Donn Moomaw. Jim Sears scored late in the fourth quarter for Southern Cal.
