The season 1979-80 of the European Cup Winners' Cup was won on penalties by Valencia CF in a goalless final against Arsenal FC. It was the only Cup Winners' Cup to be decided in this way (although two previous finals had required replays), and was Valencia's third European title after two Fairs Cup victories.
