The 1993-94 NBA season was the Kings' 45th season in the NBA and 9th in Sacramento.[1] With top draft pick Bobby Hurley from Duke University, the Kings had a renewed optimism entering the season. However, in December, Hurley was involved in a life threatening automobile accident as was out for the remainder of the season. Along the way, the Kings acquired Olden Polynice from the Detroit Pistons at midseason. The Kings went on to finish sixth in the Pacific Division with a 28-54 record, failing to win 30 games for eight consecutive seasons. Mitch Richmond was selected to start in the 1994 NBA All-Star Game.
