The 2000 San Francisco 49ers season was the team's 51st year with the National Football League. Jerry Rice entered the 2000 season as the oldest player in the league at the Wide Receiver position.[1]

The season was also Rice's last season in a 49ers uniform, as he left for the Oakland Raiders the next season. He would later help the Raiders to a Super Bowl appearance in his second season there and the closest that Rice got to his fourth ring was a crushing 48-21 defeat to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
