Germany vs Costa Rica

After six minutes, Philipp Lahm scored a surprise goal when he fired into the top corner. Paulo Wanchope equalized shortly after by sliding in the ball. Miroslav Klose managed to celebrate his birthday with two goals. First, he turned in Bernd Schneider's cross from close range, and second he headed the ball towards the goal and the header was saved by José Porras, but he shot home the rebound. Wanchope scored again on 73 minutes to make it 3-2, chasing down a cross from Walter Centeno. Torsten Frings sealed the Germans' victory three minutes from 90 minutes by powerful making a 30-yard strike to score.
