¹ Gloria Buzău were docked 8 points after not reaching the 25 points minimum margin in the 2008–09 Liga I season.
² Cetatea Suceava were excluded from the championship during the winter break, due to the team owing approximately € 1 million in unpaid wages and taxes.^[1]^[2] Their remaining matches were scratched and were credited as a 3–0 win for their opponents.
³ Bacău were excluded from the championship, starting from the 33rd round, due to financial problems.^[3] Their remaining matches have been scratched and will be credited as a 3–0 win for their opponents.

² CFR Timişoara were excluded from the championship, starting from the 13th round, due to non-fulfilled payment obligations to their players and officials.^[4] Their record was expunged.
³ Drobeta-Turnu Severin withdrew from the championship during the winter break because their investors retired from financing the club.^[5] Their remaining matches have been scratched and were credited as a 3–0 win for their opponents.
