2010 Oceania Swimming Championships

The 8th Oceania Swimming Championships were held 21–26 June 2010, at the Tuanaimato Aquatic Centre in Apia, Samoa.[1][2] It was the eight edition of the biennial championships, and featured competition in swimming, open water swimming and synchronized swimming.[3] The open water events were swum in the waters off Faleasiu.

  7. In the Men's 200 m backstroke event, Australia's Bobby Jovanovich placed third the event in a time of 2:07.96 but was unable to claim the bronze medal due the Oceania Championship rule that states that a single country can only claim the first two medals in any single event.
  8. In the Men's 50 m breaststroke event, Tonga's Amini Fonua won the event in a time of 28.57 but FINA regulations were unclear as to his eligibility. As of September 2010, Fonua was eligible to compete for Tonga at the 2010 Commonwealth Games.
  9. In the Men's 100 m breaststroke event, Tonga's Fonua Amini placed third the event in a time of 1:03.49 but FINA regulations were unclear as to his eligibility. As of September 2010, Fonua was eligible to compete for Tonga at the 2010 Commonwealth Games.
