75 Rockefeller Plaza

75 Rockefeller Plaza, also known as the Esso Building and Time Warner Building, is a skyscraper in New York City, formerly part of Rockefeller Center. It was completed in 1947 in early Modernist style. It was originally the Esso building, built for Rockefeller's Standard Oil Company (Esso). The building originally hosted a 1,200 seat Schrafft's restaurant (photo), the City's largest. At completion it was the tallest completely air-conditioned building in New York City, and the first one in Rockefeller Center. After Time-Life moved to the new Time-Life Building in the Rockefeller Center Extension, the building has been occupied and managed by the Time Warner media conglomerate.[1] It is owned by Mohamed Al Fayed.[2] and managed and leased by RXR Realty.[3]
