Football department

Aarhus Fremad lived a shadow existence for many years with a low point in 1974, when the first team played in the Series 5, and there were only 9 members and a large debt. A new coach brought new players and sponsors in, and the club soon began to climb through the ranks. Between 1984 and 1997, under the leadership of Kim Poulsen, the club won nine promotions and ended up in the Superligaen as a professional club. In 1999 the first team changed its name to FC Aarhus. In the 2005–06 season, the club was in the top of the 2. Division West and it resulted in the promotion to 1. division.

The club plays at Riisvangen Stadium in the north of Aarhus. The club has yet to 1. Division in the 2007/08 season after having finished just above the relegation line in the 2006/2007 season.
