Abhinay Muthoo (born 30 October 1963 in India)[1] is a Professor of Economics and Head of the Department of Economics at the University of Warwick. He is most well known for his work on Bargaining theory and its applications.[2] Besides this, he has a variety of other research interests which include Political Institutions, Political Economy, Conflict, Dispute Resolution, Negotiations, Coalition Formation, Foundations of Social Order, Family, International Development, International Relations, Public Policy, Game Theory, Economics and Law, Higher Education, Economics and Literature, and Political Philosophy.[3]

He studied for a BSc in Economics at the London School of Economics before proceeding to obtain his MPhil and PhD in Economics at the University of Cambridge, where he was supervised by Kenneth Binmore and Frank Hahn.

Prior to his appointment as Professor at the University of Warwick, he was a Professor at the University of Essex and held positions at Harvard University, London School of Economics, Panthéon-Assas University, University of Bristol and the University of Cambridge.[1]
