The African Journal of Criminology and Justice Studies is a biannual peer-reviewed Open access academic journal covering issues relevant to criminology, social, and justice systems of interest to Africa. It is the official journal of the African Criminology and Justice Association and was established in April 2005.

The journal is the first scholarly periodical to focus on specifically African criminal justice issues.[1] It has attempted to create an "Africana criminology", although this concept has mainly stayed outside the mainstream.[2] The journal is published at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore. The editor-in-chief as of 2011 is Biko Agozino (University of the West Indies).[3][4]
