The ghijek (Uyghur: غېجەك, ғиҗәк, ULY: ghijek, Uyghur: غىجەك, ULY: ghijek, or occasionally Uyghur: غىرجەك, ғирҗәк, ULY: ghirjek), pronounced aijieke (艾捷克) or jizihake (吉孜哈克) in Chinese, is a traditional Chinese four-stringed bowed spike fiddle. It is used primarily in Xinjiang province of western China, and is notably similar to the kamancheh.[1] Although it is primarily played by Uyghur people some Han people have also learned to play it.
One of Xinjiang's most prominent ghijek players is Akram Omar (艾克热木·吾买尔 / ئەكرەم ئۆمەر), from Kashgar.video
