Ainslie Wood, London

Ainslie Wood is a two-hectare Local Nature Reserve and Site of Borough Importance for Nature Conservation, Grade I in Chingford in the London Borough of Waltham Forest in England.[1][2] It is owned by Waltham Forest Council and managed by the council and the Friends of Ainslie and Larks Woods.
The site is ancient woodland, and used to be known as Endleigh Wood. Until the early twentieth century it was joined to the larger Larks Wood.[3] The main trees are oak, hornbeam and the rarer wild service tree, which is indicative of ancient woodland. It has a variety of birds, including great spotted woodpeckers, blue tits, great tits, robins, wrens, long tailed tits and jays. It also has rich ground flora, including bluebells, dog's-mercury and wood anemone.[4][5][1]
There is access from Royston Avenue and Ropers Avenue.
