Al-Qāʾim (Arabic: القائم‎‎ "He Who Arises") is a messiah-like figure in Shia Islam, sometimes referred to as the Mahdi, but distinctly of a Shiʿa tradition. The Bahá'í Faith consider the Báb (1819-1850) to have been the Qāʾim.
