Andrei Ivan (born 4 January 1997 in Moreni) is a Romanian footballer who plays for Universitatea Craiova as a striker.

He is considered one of the brightest young talents of the Romanian football and attracted interest from big clubs. FC Barcelona are currently scouting the player, and his club negotiated with Steaua București, Espanyol and Stuttgart rejecting offers between 3 and 4 million Euros.[1]

Career

Early career

As a youngster he made a name for himself on the fields of C.S.M. Moreni where he was trained by Mircea Petrescu. In 2012, he was transferred to Sporting Pitești.

Universitatea Craiova

In July 2014, Andrei Ivan signed a contract with Universitatea Craiova for an undisclosed fee.

On August 02, Ivan scored his first goal for Universitatea Craiova in his first appearance. He played just 8 minutes for his club in the defeat against Steaua București.

Steaua offer

At the beginning of 2016, Ivan refused to sign for Steaua București after agreement between clubs (2,150,000 Euros for the signing and 20% percentage of a player's future transfer fee)[2] stating his dream is to play in West.[3]

International career

Ivan made his full international debut on 17 November, playing the last five minutes in a 2–2 away draw against Italy, in a friendly game.[4]
